Pumpkin Everything

With yesterday marking the official start of the Fall season, everyone is breaking out their sweaters and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes. For me, the first PSL of the season meant fully accepting the summer was over, and school was in full-swing. Why is this? Why does this Pumpkin craze only happen when Fall hits? Besides the obvious reason that Fall is the season for pumpkin picking and hayrides, why are these irresistible drinks (and not only drinks, but scented candles, lotions, hand soaps, etc.) only available this time of year? If we love them so much now, why not have them all year?!

Starbucks and Wawa have to make a killing off these drinks this time of year. One would think they would benefit from having Pumpkin Spice as a flavor all year. But would they? It seems that Pumpkin Spice is the Fall trend. When warmer weather rolls around, people forget all about its deliciousness and move on until next Fall, when the second a store brings it back, people are all over it.

Not only are there Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but Pumpkin Ales as well. Same thing. They're only available for a limited time when the leaves turn red and orange and fall to the ground.

It's a madness that, although I partake in it, will never understand. I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a good PSL and just very glutinously purchased Pumpkin Caramel Latte candles and hand soaps from Bath and Body Works. For now, I won't try to analyze too much. I'll just enjoy the time I have with my PSL.
